Across the island of Oʻahu, the City & County of Honolulu’s Department of Parks and Recreation has transformed many of our old volleyball and tennis courts into vibrant pickleball venues.

You might wonder: what are the best places to play pickleball on Oʻahu? The answer depends on where you live and where your friends play. The comprehensive list below shows all the public courts around the island. There are additional courts on Oʻahu, but they’re private—you may need a permit or pay a fee to play there.

Only four sites feature permanent, standalone pickleball courts with built-in nets; at all other locations, you’ll need to bring a portable net:

• Kailua District Park (Windward side) – 4 courts, fully lit

• Keehi Lagoon District Park (near Honolulu International Airport) – 12 courts, unlit

• Mother Waldron Neighborhood Park (Kakaʻako) – 2 courts, unlit

• Shigeo Ushiro Mānana Neighborhood Park (Pearl City) – 1 court, unlit

• Ka’ala Neighborhood Park  (Wahiawa) – 2 courts, fully lit

Additionally, the Diamond Head Tennis Center maintains one dedicated paddle tennis/pickleball court (no lighting).
