ʻEwa Mahiko District Park is one of the strongest west-side pickleball communities on Oʻahu. Current Oahu Pickleball Association listings show recurring all-level sessions with four to eight courts set up depending on the day.

Mahiko has had additional recurring sessions at different times in the past, and the community calendar changes. For that reason, I would use the OPA Meetup calendar as the source of truth rather than an old weekly schedule copied into a blog post.

How Many Pickleball Courts Are at Mahiko?
This is one place where a single number can be misleading because the pickleball setup changes by session. Honolulu DPR includes ʻEwa Mahiko among the parks where courts have been converted or lined for pickleball, while current OPA session descriptions refer to setups ranging from four to eight courts.
Saturday evening play currently describes eight pickleball courts set up across four tennis courts. Monday morning play is listed as four to eight courts using existing multi-use areas.
So rather than promising “10 courts” every time you arrive, I would think of Mahiko as a large multi-court pickleball location whose exact active-court count depends on the session.

Current OPA listings say nets are provided for organized sessions, and Saturday evening play also lists balls as provided.
Parking & Access
Mahiko is a neighborhood district park rather than a resort-area facility, so parking is generally simpler than in Waikīkī. Still, popular open-play sessions can draw a lot of players, so arriving before the scheduled start is useful.
I removed the old hard-coded driving-time table because Oʻahu traffic can change a trip by 20–40 minutes depending on the time of day. Use live navigation on the day you go, especially if you are driving from town in the afternoon.
Is Mahiko Good for Beginners?
Yes, especially during the all-level community sessions. Saturday evening currently says paddles are stacked according to level, which can help separate beginner, intermediate, and stronger games when enough players attend.
If you are brand new and do not yet understand open-play rotation, arrive a few minutes early and ask an organizer how the paddle stack works.
Final Thoughts
For west-side players, Mahiko is one of the most useful community pickleball locations on Oʻahu. The main thing to remember is that the schedule changes more often than the park itself. Check the current organizer listing before driving rather than relying on an old Tuesday/Thursday schedule.
