One of the best lessons I’ve had! I am a 50+ 4.5 player visiting from mainland and on a whim set up this lesson with coach Honza. We played skinny singles to assess my game. Of course I didn’t win many points and he identified a significant weakness in my drives. We spent most of the lesson working on improving my stroke. It was not easy, but my stroke improved significantly by the end of the lesson. We also worked on letting out balls go, a weakness I wanted to work on. Overall, very helpful lesson and I would encourage anyone to give it a go if they want to get better at pickleball. Well worth the money!

Honza shared some very simple but effective pickleball tips.  He helped improve my dinks by offering adjustments via body position, foot work, arm and paddle position.  There was a lot learned for the intro hour long session.  I will definitely sign up for more lessons.

I had the opportunity to participate in the Hawaii Pickleball Academy singles tournament in 2026, and it was a great experience from start to finish. The tournament was very well managed by Honza and Lauren, and the organization of the matches made the whole event enjoyable and competitive for everyone involved. I also had the chance to help with a few after-school clinics for kids, which showed me how much care and passion the academy puts into growing the sport and creating a positive community. Hawaii Pickleball Academy is a fantastic environment for both kids and adults to learn the game of pickleball in a fun, welcoming, and competitive setting. My son had the opportunity to participate in two afterschool sessions at his elementary school with the Hawaii Pickleball Academy. He had so much fun the first session that we signed him up for the second session as well. Coach Honza and Lauren are able to teach basic pickleball skills in a fun way and to their level. His stroke development and eye-hand skills have definitely improved. He especially liked the cooperative hitting, target and team games. What a fun way to learn Pickleball. Coach Honza explained, showed and guided me through each technique.  He was very patient and always encouraging.  Many of my friends have commented that my game has markedly improved🤗.  I'm not telling them about my secret weapon, Coach Honza🤫.
