5 weeks of trainingFive 90-minute sessions, plus an initial assessment/placement session.
Small groupsThe original series was capped at 8 players per level.
Level-based curriculumFoundations, skill development, and advanced strategy were separated.

How the Three Levels Were Structured

Level 1 — Foundations

Level 1 focused on the basic strokes and court understanding needed to play full games with confidence.

  • Week 1: forehand and serve fundamentals
  • Week 2: backhand development
  • Week 3: volleys and overheads
  • Week 4: dinking and soft-game control
  • Week 5: combining the skills in point play

Level 2 — Skill Development

Level 2 was built around consistency, transition skills, and better shot selection.

  • Week 1: drive development
  • Week 2: third-shot drops
  • Week 3: volleys and resets
  • Week 4: dink consistency and placement
  • Week 5: game situations and point play

Level 3 — Advanced Strategy

Level 3 was intended for stronger players who already had the basic shots and wanted more work on decision-making and point construction.

  • Week 1: serve and return strategy
  • Week 2: drive vs. drop decisions
  • Week 3: speed-ups and counters
  • Week 4: dinking strategy and point construction
  • Week 5: advanced match scenarios

Why We Used an Assessment Session

The assessment was not meant to create a label for the player. It was used to keep the training groups reasonably balanced so the pace, drills, and live points made sense for everyone.

A player can have a strong forehand and still need a lower group for movement or game understanding, or the opposite. That is why we prefer to look at the whole player rather than assign a level from one shot.

Why Multi-Week Training Can Work Better Than Random Lessons

A series creates continuity. The coach remembers what the player worked on, the player has time to practice it, and the next session can build on the same change.

The important part is still the work between sessions. Five lessons alone do not guarantee improvement. The advantage comes from combining coaching with repetition, drilling, and live play.
