Lauren and I originally created the membership because we wanted a way to connect players who were already coming to our lessons, clinics, tournaments, and community events. But a membership only makes sense if the benefits stay useful.
That is why we changed the program in 2026. Some older benefits—such as the free annual clinic, T-shirt, paddle trade-in program, and Pickle Partner Up™ discount—are no longer part of the current membership package. The live membership page now focuses on benefits that members can use throughout the year.

What Is the Membership Worth?
The included private lesson with Honza is currently listed at $120 by itself. The live membership page also values the monthly open-play benefit at more than $120 annually before counting any 10% discounts or priority access.

Who Is the Membership Best For?
I think the membership makes the most sense for players who already expect to use Hawaii Pickleball Academy® during the year. If you take lessons, attend clinics, play our events, or want a recurring member open-play group, the benefits are easier to use.
It may be less useful for someone who is visiting Oʻahu for only a few days and does not expect to return during the membership year. A visitor can still join, but the value is naturally higher when you can use the benefits repeatedly.
Why We Changed the Benefits
The original membership had more individual perks, but more perks are not automatically better. We wanted the current version to be easier to understand and centered on the things players actually use: coaching, play opportunities, access, and savings.
That also means this article should not become the final authority on future membership benefits. If we change the program again, the official membership page is where the current price and benefits will be posted first.
